About My Practice

“It is a joy to be hidden, and a disaster not to be found” D.W. Winnicott

I am a psychotherapist-in-training, studying for an MA in Integrative Humanistic Psychotherapy at Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling. I am currently working in Private Practice in Nailsworth, near Stroud, where I meet clients for affordable, in-person psychotherapy. I charge £25 for weekly therapy sessions.

There are many reasons why you might seek therapy. You might feel that life is overwhelming, that you are isolated, lost or don’t know what your purpose is. You may feel stuck in repetitive patterns that are confusing and painful. Perhaps you are seeking space to explore past losses or traumas and how they might be affecting you now. Or maybe you need somewhere that is just for you, a place where you can be truly listened to and connect with your inner voice away from the noisiness and chaos of life. If you feel ready to give time and space to these things in your life, then psychotherapy could be beneficial to you.

I hold the therapist-client relationship at the heart of my practice, as the place from which healing and growth happen. I endeavour to be warm, non-judgemental and empathic with you. I hope to provide a secure, containing environment where you can connect more with your authentic self – becoming comfortable with different parts of yourself, some perhaps unacknowledged, undesired or misunderstood. Self-acceptance and self-compassion grow from a place of understanding. I believe that real change comes in the wake of self-acceptance.

As a psychotherapy student, I am constantly learning and my practice as a therapist is evolving as I integrate the learning from my training. My working background was in primary education and I also spent a number of years as a full-time parent. More recently, I have volunteered at Cotswold Counselling in Cirencester, offering low-cost, long-term talking therapy to the local community. I am a registered trainee member of UKCP and adhere to their code of conduct and ethics of practice.

“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change” Carl Rogers
